ACCELERATING ACTION FOR CHANGE đź’ś 2025 INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY
The Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA) marked International Women’s Day 2025 with powerful networking events across the country, uniting over 600 industry professionals to champion gender diversity and inclusion.
At the Sydney event, held at NSW Parliament House, the theme “Accelerate Action” came to life—not just in words, but in the deeply personal stories shared.
SCLAA Chair Sue Tomic reflected on the industry’s progress in gender representation—celebrating strides in female leadership and inclusive policies while acknowledging there’s more to do. 📢 “The logistics industry is well-positioned to lead by example when it comes to diversity and inclusion, but it will take leadership at all levels to foster real change and attract young, diverse talent to the sector.”
Keynotes from Lisa Qu and Maureen Jordan inspired attendees, highlighting authenticity, boldness, and strong connections in professional growth.
💜 The event also featured a charity auction benefiting Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Women’s Shelter, led by the dynamic Megan White.
Our very own Business Development Manager, Alice Brimicombe CPA Brimicombe, and SCLAA NSW Vice President, courageously spoke about her survival from domestic violence and the crucial role that support networks played in rebuilding her life. Alice’s Family story is a stark reminder that progress isn’t just about boardroom representation or workplace policies—it’s about fostering a society where safety, equality, and opportunity are a reality for all women.
Ambassador Nick McArdle emphasised the role of men in addressing gender-based violence, while Catherine Knox, Chair of the Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Women’s Shelter, highlighted the critical need for services that provide refuge and support.
With 260 industry leaders in the room and many more across Australia, the message was clear: we all have a role to play in driving meaningful change. This IWD, we’re not just celebrating—we’re taking action.
Thank you to everyone involved celebrating and supporting IWD. Let’s keep the momentum going.
We can’t wait to celebrate Women’s Day 2026 with our amazing network.
