Did you know🤔⁉️ An interesting Supply Chain Fact

During World War II, the Allied forces executed one of the most complex supply chain operations in history, known as Operation Overlord or D-Day. On June 6, 1944, the Allies launched a massive invasion of Nazi-occupied France on the beaches of Normandy. This operation required meticulous planning and coordination of logistics, including the transportation of thousands of troops, vehicles, and supplies across the English Channel. The success of D-Day depended on the ability to sustain a continuous flow of reinforcements and supplies to the front lines, which was achieved through the establishment of temporary ports known as Mulberry harbors. These artificial harbours enabled the Allies to quickly unload ships and support the advancing troops, ultimately contributing to the liberation of Western Europe from Nazi control.
